Aitutaki Lagoon
Aitutaki's world-famous lagoon provides enthusiasts with an excellent opportunity to explore underwater sights and attractions. The lagoon scenery, viewed by boat or from the shoreline, is remarkable in its colour complexity and exquisite beauty. Up to ten separate lagoon charter operators ply the width and depths of the lagoon waters on a daily basis.
The best snorkelling & diving expedition sites can be accessed by boat, however, there is some wonderful snorkelling available from shore immediately beyond Pacific Resort Aitutaki.
Whale watching tours are undertaken over the months of June to October. The Cook Islands waters are a popular playground for these graceful mammals who can be glimpsed from the shoreline, as well as from the safety of specialised whale-watching guided tours.

Elsewhere around Aitutaki island, several crafts-people can be visited at their home studios with wood carvings, pottery, glass beads and jewellery, paintings, weaving, coconut products being sold or displayed for commission-work.
